DETERZIM is a newly developed product consisting of a mixture of enzymes (lipases, proteases, amylases, chitinases, cellulases, etc.) supported by naturally derived polymeric units and a consortium of selected microorganisms (aerobes, anaerobes, facultatives, eumycetes, actinomycetes, nitrifying, denitrifying, sulphoxidising, etc.) contained within honeycomb-structured microgranules that enable them to exert a powerful antagonistic effect against pathogens; this is combined with a plant-based emulsifier that acts as a detergent. When properly diluted in water, DETERZIM cleans waste bins whilst simultaneously coating them with a highly active biological film that inhibits both bacterial activity – which causes unpleasant odours – and the proliferation of pathogenic organisms.
As regards unpleasant odours, DETERZIM can eliminate them through the following mechanism:
• The plant-based emulsifier cleans the bins and helps the enzymatic-bacterial film to adhere;
• The enzymes act rapidly and create a suitable environment for the introduced bacteria to multiply promptly;
• The oxidative biodegradation carried out by the bacteria transforms putrescible organic matter into stable substances, producing carbon dioxide as a by-product of their metabolism;
• The enzymatic-bacterial action of DETERZIM maintains the pH within the range of 6.5 to 7.5, preventing the formation of ammonia.
