DETERZIM is a newly developed product consisting of a mixture of enzymes (lipases, proteases, amylases, chitinases, cellulases, etc.) supported by naturally derived polymeric units and a consortium of selected microorganisms (aerobes, anaerobes, facultatives, eumycetes, actinomycetes, nitrifying, denitrifying, sulphoxidising, etc.) contained within honeycomb-structured microgranules that enable them to exert a powerful antagonistic effect against pathogens; this is combined with a plant-based emulsifier that acts as a detergent. When properly diluted in water, DETERZIM cleans waste bins whilst simultaneously coating them with a highly active biological film that inhibits both bacterial activity – which causes unpleasant odours – and the proliferation of pathogenic organisms.
As for unpleasant odours, DETERZIM can help eliminate them through the following mechanism:
• The plant-based emulsifier cleans the bins and helps the enzymatic-bacterial film to adhere;
• The enzymes act rapidly and create an environment conducive to the rapid multiplication of the bacteria introduced;
• The oxidative bioprocess carried out by bacteria transforms putrescible organic substances into stable substances, producing carbon dioxide as a waste product of their metabolism;
• The enzymatic and bacterial action of DETERZIM maintains the pH within the range of 6.5 to 7.5, preventing the build-up of ammonia.
